Heritage Guest House
in the small Settler town of Alexandria, offers clean comfortable
accommodation in nine units. Doubles and Twins en suite and Twins

Previously called
Olifantshoek (Elephant's Corner) - where Addo elephants once roamed
freely - the town is now known as Alexandria in honour of Alexander
Smith, the first Dutch Reformed Dominee sent here to look after the
local gemeente (congregation). The Xhosa name for the town is
Emnyameni which means "at the rainbow".
This business began
serving travellers in March 1852 and has been doing so continuously
since then and for the past 23 years has been steadily upgraded by
owner/managers Kathleen and Peter Gordon.
In November 2007 the
Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) rewarded
their efforts by awarding:
